Women In Space (WIS) is committed to increasing representation, visibility, and opportunities for women in the space industry through outreach, education, and collaboration. Gender inequality continues to limit access and advancement for women in STEM fields, and we are working to help reduce these barriers within the space industry. Through mentorship, networking, educational initiatives, and global partnerships, we create opportunities for women to connect, grow, and contribute to the future of space.

There is a significant underrepresentation of women in the global space industry, which acts as a barrier to women pursuing and advancing their careers in the field. Women make up approximately 20-22% of the international space workforce, and this proportion has remained largely unchanged over the past three decades (UN News, 2021). This highlights the need for continued efforts to improve access, visibility, and opportunity for women in space-related fields.

Representation & Visibility
WIS aims to increase the representation and visibility of women within the global space industry in efforts to help reduce the gender inequality gap. We spotlight influential women in the space industry whose work has paved the way for future generations in space-related fields. Our goal is to highlight the growing diversity within the industry and inspire aspiring students and professionals.
Community & Collaboration
WIS aims to foster a community of empowered, forward-thinking women who are shaping the future of the space industry. We provide outreach and networking opportunities that enable aspiring students and professionals to connect and collaborate. Our goal is to build a community founded on trust, inclusivity, and resilience that brings people together to create lasting change.
Outreach & Engagement
WIS aims to build awareness beyond its own community through its digital presence and content, as well as through school and youth engagement and collaborations and partnerships within the industry. We leverage social and digital media platforms to raise brand awareness, reach diverse audiences, and inspire them to explore opportunities in the space industry and engage with space-related fields.
